One example is PixelOver, a program that was designed to help users turn their images into full-blown pixel art, featuring many ways to make the process more accessible, owing to the many functionalities housed in its intuitive interface.

A familiar interface
While starting out with the program may seem a little confusing at first, playing around with its functions for a bit is enough to accommodate new users. Right off the bat, you can use the provided sample projects to get a feel for how everything works: though you may not know what all of its functions do, the familiarity of the interface means that there's not much acclimating to be done in that regard.
Still, users can insert their images by just dropping them onto the program, and they can begin adjusting right away. Basic image editing options such as modifying the brightness, hue, contrast, gamma, and saturation of the image are available.
Animation and indexation
The program works its magic through the Indexation and Dithering functions, which it uses to generate the pixel art for your image. The software can generate an indexation palette based on your photo, or you can do it yourself. You can tweak the generated result by adjusting the palette size, thereby boosting the clarity of the pixelation. Couple that with some dithering, and you'll have some pixel art you can call your own.
There are many other features: you can add a mask for more thorough pixelation, use the resampling algorithm to tweak the look of the pixels, add in some water and shockwave effects to make everything flowy, and animate it all.
There's an animation functionality available, and this works best in conjunction with the provided effects. The water sample project best illustrates this: you can bring your pixel art to life through the built-in animation tool.
In conclusion
There's a lot you can do with PixelOver, and this review only scratches the surface of its capabilities. It's best you try it out yourself, and maybe you'll be surprised at how intriguing pixel art can be when it's manipulated through the right software.

The Simmons CLapTrap, 80s Perfect Clap Machine.
Authentic and repeatable ensemble handclaps, never sound the same twice.
The Clap Trap has been designed to produce authentic and repeatable ensemble handclaps at your command - it can produce other sounds such as percussive crashes and bursts of noise to give a long decay to snare drums.

The digital part is played using the variable sample rate technology, a variable clock is actually used to change the pitch. This vintage technology produces additional harmonic content and contribute to the sound character we all love.
The analog part is a pitched noise, produced by filtering the noise source.
This is a one on one recreation of the mighty Simmons Digital ClapTrap from the 80s in plug-in form. Thanks to reverse engineering my hardware unit, the digital source is bit accurate, the random technique (HUMANIZER) is perfectly replicated and the virtual analog parts are modeled as closed as possible, in addition I did some modifications like true stereo capabilities, extended ranges, fine tuning and CV/MIDI response options.
True Stereo is done by running internaly two ClapTrap units at the same time with offsets to EPROM Clocks and Filter CVs, the offset amount is controlled by the WIDTH knob.
For the first time available as a standalone plug-in this version 2.0 now also adds the full analog circuit version aka: when claps were generated by a crazy mixture of oscillator modulations, modulated comparators generated envelopes and other nasty things. The plug-in gives you full control over the clap generation circuit so you can tweak it to taste for a more or less "tonal" clap ensemble or change how the "human factor" is applied...
You can run both analog or/and digital circuits in many ways: single mode, dual mode and even multi out.
Version 1.0 of ClapTrap wasn't available standalone before v2.0, it originally came as a free bonus with any VSDSX 2.0 plugin purchase and could only work alongside VSDSX 2.
The ClapTrap plug-In version 2 is it's own thing and can also work alongside v1.

Simmons 80s Drums SDSV An analog drum synth legend now in V2.
The Simmons hexagonal shaped Electronic drums were all over the place on countless records and live shows during the 80s , used by artists and bands like Genesis, King Crimson, Jean Michel Jarre, Prince, Herbie Hancock, Pink Floyd etc...

Often used in a lazy way to generate disco-esque pewww pewww tom sounds, the SDSV module could produced a wide range of sounds. It got great punch and sensitivity.
The SDSV successor called SDS7 added digital lo-fi samples and additional features such as bend direction or FM modulation as means for broader range of possible sounds.
The SDSV is a historical analog gear that has a place in the sound of the 80s and is still used today as secret weapon, drum layering or central part for genre defined music.
Only around 5000 of these drum brains where produced so don't count on finding a working one easily and for cheap.
As there were no accurate VST for this legend out there...
I had to make VSDSX, a perfect recreation with tons of added new features! this is dedicated to Dave Simmons's vision and to all drummers in the world.
VSDSX, which stands for Virtual Simmons Drum System Extended, provides the closest experience to the real thing, for each voice or as it was called (module) it models accurately the analog sound generation, internal circuitry tuning, trigger velocity sensitivity and all the details you can find explained inside the dedicated manual.
For its hybrid voices (HIHAT, CYMBAL, PROM & CLAP are a mix of analog/digital) clocks and counters reading EPROM memory at variable sample rate are perfectly emulated in realtime.
It models the SSM2044 filters offering fine tuning control over internal control voltages, trigger shapes, and VCA response. It also emulates how the module will react if triggered with pads or sequencer...MIDI velocity will change the synthesized sound drastically whether you use real drums trigger detection or piano roll style composition.
Offering multi output capability for your DAW, VSDSX will give you that legendary powerful analog punch! On top of the cake, two voices can load your own external EPROM image data (digital sample) like on a real SDS1 (EPROM based) pad...offering a whole new range of sounds.
VSDSX is now on version 2.3 and features among other cool things a perfectly emulated Simmons Digital ClapTrap module, a clap synth which combines a variable sample rate digital source combined with pitched analog noise, an original feature of the unit was to never produce the same sound twice. Although it is integrated inside VSDSX a dedicated ClapTrap 2.0 plugin which includes both analog and digital models, stereo widening, chromatic (per note) trigger, original hardware filter, EPROM replacing capabilty and way more controls like dual mode and analog clap generation circuit tuning is available separately.
VSDSX provides a huge synthetic drum sound by itself and can also be used with great efficiency in drum layering. Parameters automation and modulation can turn this thing into a crazy an creative sound source
Using it for layering with VPROM can produce a nasty funky sound which combines analog and early digital!
While VSDSX 2.0 adds a perfectly recreated ClapTrap voice (based on the digital MK3 model) you can go deeper with the extended ClapTrap 2.0 plug-in which includes all models (analog MK1, 2 and 3) and way more options.
