A study on cationic states of π-electron systems with doubly fused p-QD units and their intrinsic redox properties will lead to the development of unprecedented dyrex systems, the frontier orbital levels of which can be precisely controlled by input of external stimuli such as electric potential and heat. Desire and Disunity explores the struggles of Christianising late ancient sexuality in the late Roman West. Through an examination of fourth to sixth century sermons, letters, laws, and treatises in Latin-speaking communities, the difficulties of late antique clerics in moving ascetically influenced sexual ideals into wider practice become evident. Western clerics faced challenges on several fronts: the dedication and devoutness of lay Christians varied, while the military-political upheavals of the fifth century created new challenges and opportunities for influencing one's flock. Furthermore, Roman sexual norms continued to inform the thinking of many clerics and lay figures alike, even when in opposition to more scripturally based moral reasoning. Problems of bigamy, concubinage, sex work, incest, homosexual acts, adultery, and more troubled western Christian communities, with contradicting rules and traditions on what was acceptable and what was not. What reach did elite clerical perspectives on sexual norms have amongst the non-elite? How did clerics navigate tensions between the idealisation of Christian communal purity and the actions of congregants that fell short of these ideals? What influenced clerical perceptions of sex and how did they articulate these ideas to their audiences? Clerical sources of this time reflect these challenges as well as varying church attempts to reform the sex lives of their congregants - and, indeed, church failure in doing so.

Das Schicksal des am 29. Oktober 2004 unterzeichneten Verfassungsvertrages ist nach wie vor ungewiss. Alle Abhandlungen beschäftigen sich mit grundlegenden Problemen des Verfassungsvertrages: den rechtlichen und politischen Handlungsmöglichkeiten in der gegenwärtigen Ratifikationskrise, der künftigen Rolle der regionalen Ebene in der EU aus Sicht der Bundesländer, den unionsrechtlichen Voraussetzungen der nunmehr ausdrücklich vorgesehenen Möglichkeit des Austritts aus der Union, den neu eingefügten Beistands- und Solidaritätsklauseln unter Berücksichtigung völkerrechtlicher Aspekte, der Konzeption und Einrichtung eines Europäischen Auswärtigen Dienstes, der Konventsmethode im Verfahren der Vertragsänderung und ihrer Kritik aus rechtspolitischer Sicht sowie dem Spannungsverhältnis von formal-vertragsrechtlichem Bruch und materiell-inhaltlicher Kontinuität zwischen alter und neuer Union.Herausgeber und Autoren hoffen, der Diskussion über die Zukunft der Europäischen Union, die unter deutschem Ratsvorsitz in der ersten Hälfte des Jahres 2007 intensiviert werden soll, mit dem vorliegenden Band einige inhaltliche Impulse zu geben.

Die Rechtsprechung des BAG zum Tatbestand des Betriebsübergangs nach § 613a Abs. 1 Satz 1 BGB hat mit Urteil vom 22. Mai 1997 einen Einschnitt erfahren, denn das BAG hat sein lange Zeit praktiziertes Konzept aufgegeben und die davon abweichende Konzeption des EuGH übernommen. Besonders markant war die Kehrtwende in methodischer Hinsicht. Während das BAG, jedenfalls im Ausgangspunkt, der traditionellen Methodik folgend den Tatbestand des § 613a Abs. 1 Satz 1 BGB in einzelne Tatbestandsmerkmale unterteilte, definierte und anwendete, hat der EuGH einen Topoi-Katalog von Kriterien zusammengestellt, die im Wege einer Gesamtbewertung die Beurteilung eines Betriebsübergangs ermöglichen sollen.Jörg Windt zeigt, dass die Kehrtwende zu Recht erfolgte und führt das Konstrukt des EuGH in methodologischer Hinsicht auf die Lehre vom Typus zurück: Der Begriff des Betriebsübergangs ist ein Typusbegriff, dessen Verwendung in Anbetracht der Vielgestaltigkeit und Komplexität der Lebensverhältnisse auch bei solchen Tatbeständen gerechtfertigt sein kann, die, wie der § 613a Abs. 1 Satz 1 BGB, durch den Gesetzgeber weitgehend ausgeformt sind. Von entscheidender Bedeutung bei der juristischen Konstruktion von Typusbegriffen ist sein leitender Bedeutungs- oder Wertgesichtspunkt, der in dieser Arbeit in der "Weiterbeschäftigungsmöglichkeit" der von einem Betriebsübergang betroffenen Arbeitnehmer erblickt wird. Die Gesamtbewertung aller Topoi im Einzelfall, ausgerichtet an diesem Leitkriterium, eröffnet der Vorschrift des § 613a BGB die notwendige Flexibilität, ihren Aufgaben gerecht zu werden.
