Embora Chichén Itza tenha existido durante centenas de anos, o seu domínio na região foi relativamente curto, tendo durado cerca de 800 a 950 d.C. Hoje em dia, os turistas são conduzidos por guias a um edifício chamado Convento, não por outra razão senão porque as pequenas divisões faziam lembrar aos espanhóis um convento na sua terra. Christopher Hill was one of the leading historians of his generation. Braddick's judicious biography not only situates Hill's life and work in their historical context but seeks to rescue Hill for a new generation of readers.
