Die Überlegungen von Wilms über den Persönlichkeitsschutz im Zeitalter des Internet berühren drei Ebenen. Zunächst veranschaulichen sie Bedrohungen oder Schädigungen des Persönlichkeitsschutzes im Internet. Sodann folgern sie dogmatisch und strukturieren das - möglicherweise angesichts seines Entwicklungstempos niemals gänzlich zu beherrschende - Gebiet, das vom Polizei- bis zum Welthandelsrecht reicht. Drittens erhebt Wilms rechtspolitische Forderungen aus seiner Anwaltserfahrung.Ebenfalls aus ihrer eigenen Praxis heraus durchleuchtet die Bundesverfassungsrichterin Gertrude Lübbe-Wolff die immer zahlreicheren Unstimmigkeiten zwischen "Straßburg" und "Karlsruhe", d. h. zwischen dem EGMR und BVerfG. Sie klärt sie mit Hilfe eines Korridor-Modells, das sie in der neuesten Rechtsprechung des BVerfG zu den Caroline-Fällen, ähnlich wie auch in der neuesten Rechtsprechung des EGMR, nachweist.Philosophisch sind die Artikel von Kurt Seelmann und Hartmut Schiedermair sowie die kurze Einführung des Herausgebers Martin Hochhuth. Auch bietet Schiedermair zwar, wie seine Schüler Wilms und Dörr, anschauliche und dramatische Rechtsfälle. So nimmt er etwa zum Folterstreit, zum Dissens um die Abschießbarkeit entführter Flugzeuge oder zur immer umfangreicheren technischen Überwachung durch polizeiliche Institutionen Stellung. Doch ist all dies staatsphilosophisch nicht etwa nur garniert, sondern tief durchdrungen. Aristoteles, Hobbes und Bodin, Leibniz, Pufendorf und Kant werden in Schiedermairs Überlegungen zur Totalität des Staates fruchtbar.Seelmann schreibt über "Hegel und den Staat als Vertrag", weil die Vertragstheorien seit Rawls wieder mehr beachtet werden, ohne dass die von Hume und Hegel vorgebrachten Einwände umfassend abgearbeitet wären. Hochhuth schließlich behauptet eine Nähe zwischen Juristenhandwerk und Postmoderne. Beide hätten es mit den Oberflächen zu tun, und blendeten die Frage nach dem "Eigentlichen" aus. Das Recht sei die Benutzeroberfläche, die dem reibungslosen Funktionieren gerade dort diene, wo letzte Fragen, etwa weil sie strittig sind, offenblieben. Während das Recht also in mancher Hinsicht durchaus "postmodern" sei, dürfe es die Wissenschaft - auch die des Rechts - niemals sein. Wissenschaft bleibe vielmehr der aufklärerischen Gründlichkeit der Moderne verpflichtet. Der Jubilar stehe für diese im guten Sinne nunmehr "altmodische" Universitätskultur.
